Shannon is a first for his parents Amy and Ian, and you couldn’t, as a photographer, really ask for a cuter little guy to work with on a winter Saturday. After bunch of fuss, some wails from his pipes, and a few post feeding toots, we got some great shots of Shannon for Amy and Ian.
You would think that two people who organize multi-million dollar conventions in Singapore would have a big, lavish affair for their wedding, but these two decided to do just the opposite. They quietly snuck away to the other side of the world and had an incredibly intimate day with just their two best friends as witnesses.
Patrick and Eileen were full of love and laughter, and our extended portrait session through the most beautiful parts of Victoria was simply a joy to capture.
These two are some of our best buds here in Vancouver and when they got engaged we insisted on taking some portraits to capture this special occasion. One of our mutual hobbies/obsessions is sampling, experimenting and brewing beer (and cider too!), so of course we had to incorporate this collective love into the shoot. Starting off with a growler full of cider and a picnic at Trout Lake Park, followed by the ground breaking/truck-dropping party at the new Red Truck Brewery and ending at a behind-the-scenes shoot in the back room of Steamworks Brewpub, it was a saucy and delicious way to celebrate these two getting hitched next summer.
Scott is an award-winning home brewer and on the board of VanBrewers and Amanda is on the board of CAMRA BC. If you happen to be as keen on fermentation as we are, definitely check these clubs out!

This winter wedding was a day full of contrasts– beginnings and ends, happiness and sadness, darkness and light. From the wedding’s theme of ‘black and white’, to these two finding each other after years and countries apart. From the day beginning in the opulence of the Fairmont Vancouver and ending in that infamously kitsch East Van haunt. And of course the topic that has been occupying the dinner table and water cooler conversations of so many Vancouverites, it felt bittersweet celebrating a new chapter in Mike and Jackie’s relationship in the dimly-lit Tiki Bar days before the final chapter of The Waldorf Hotel comes to a close.
It was a pleasure to be with Jackie and Mike on their incredible day, and an honour to have the opportunity to photograph in this venue before it shuts it’s doors. Let’s hope the movement to keep the Waldorf alive doesn’t fade away, and we have the chance to capture more of these unique celebrations in the future. Let us know what the Waldorf means to you! I first met Grace at the ShareDDB silent auction and fundraising event. We donated a gift certificate for a family portrait and print credit to this really wonderful charitable event and Grace snatched it up!
On a chilly Sunday afternoon, the adorable Watson family braved the cold at the Queen Elisabeth Park for a sweet and fun family portrait just before the New Year.
This chatty toddler has a lot to say and even more to smile about! I only took a few quick snaps of Aleksander during a visit with his mom over the holidays, but every one was a keeper with this uber photogenic 2 year old. I mean, seriously. Look at those eyes!

Des & Darren, a fantastically endearing couple, take a walk with us through the increasingly vibrant and hip Olympic Village in Vancouver.
One of the most colourful weddings of this year, Maggie & Yaro’s personalities certainly matched the tone! What a wonderful, bubbly, head-over-heels-in-love kind of couple. Sandwiched between weeks and weeks of non-stop rain, the perfectly clear, sunny, and warm early-spring wedding with a backdrop of the Buchart Gardens’ new blooms was more than ideal.
I was honoured to be a witness to the joining of not only two families, but two cultures during the combined Chinese and Cambodian ceremonies before the reception. This was a truly vibrant celebration in every sense of the word!
A little housekeeping note before I tell you about the beautiful Jen & Alan. We are slowly converting our portfolio to a blog-based stream of weddings, so you might see some duplicates as we move things over. That said, we have a heap of weddings and portrait sessions that we haven’t shared yet, so get ready for a bunch of camera-candy for your viewing pleasure from the past six months or so.
Now on to the lovely Alan and Jen and their beautiful, community-centric and intimate wedding in set at the beautiful Nicklaus North Golf Course in Whistler BC. This tight-knit family brought it back to the basics of what a wedding is all about: family, love, community and the joy of sharing a meal at a long table together. Lots of laughs and love!
